PEACE, I’m SHAUNTRICE.
I was born to a blue collar momma in the South. After she worked all day, she would paint cartoon characters and logos on clothes for families who couldn’t afford name brands. While she painted, she’d also talk to our neighbors about job applications, getting clothes for their children, and getting gigs to supplement their income. She was a renaissance woman in the middle of the Sheppard Square housing projects. I watched her create beautiful images on jeans inside our small living room on plastic covered furniture, while she helped people curate their own beautiful lives outside our little apartment. THAT’S WHY I STARTED OKIKE. Like my mother, I want to see us WIN. Okike is an arts equity platform focused on supporting marginalized artists.
OKIKE IS WHERE BLACK ARTISTS GET PAID.
I helped one of my clients, Felipe Patterson, was able to turn his writing passion into red carpet premiere invitations, being published by VICE, and dozens of other opportunities. Last year I worked with grammy-nominated singer Maimouna Youssef to get her nonprofit Mountain Eagle Place off the ground. I’ve successfully raised more than $10 million for nonprofit organizations and I am confident that Okike can help you too.
We can do great things together. Congrats in advance!
